My thoughts on University so far

Well.. even though I have only been at University 6 weeks, it is stressing me out so much already and honestly, I thought I would enjoy it so much more, and I also thought I would have been able to make friends a lot easier too. I am such an easy person to get along with and I have never had trouble making friends, but I haven't seemed to click with anybody yet. Also, I never thought I would miss home this much.

I have always been a very independent person and I have always been someone to hate living at home with family, but now I have moved away, I miss it more than I thought I would. It is right when people say 'there is no place like home'. It has really hit me now that I am starting to grow up and have my own responsibilities, and University is a lot harder than I thought too. You really do have to listen in your lectures and take notes and you really have to keep up with the work load because there is SO much. You have to watch your money too, I cannot stress how much you have to budget it, I have wasted a lot of money already and it is stressing me out a lot. Also, the amount of reading you have to do too, keep up with it and really go over it and make notes because it is so hard to actually process it in your mind.

My course - I am studying a Fashion Marketing course and I am not 100% happy with it. Over the past week I have just been thinking to myself 'can I really see myself in Fashion?' 'Can I really see myself styling?' I am not sure exactly what I want to do. Part of me wishes I did a gap year now so I had time to think about what I wanted to do as my degree, but at college, my tutors kind of pushed me to go to University straight away. I was going to do a gap year in the first place.

I was talking to my flat mates today and they gave me a bit of advice of talking to my personal tutor about things. I am interested in film and fashion, so I think this week I am going to talk to them about changing my course to a Joint degree in doing Fashion Marketing and Film instead (my flat mates suggested this), I would really love to do both. I am probably going to work at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham for a week backstage so this will give me a good idea of what my future career will be like if I went into this sort of job. I am paying so much money to study at University and I do not want to be in debt for something I did not want to do in the first place, so thinking about what I want to do, quickly, is so important for me right now.

I hope some people understand what this is like. I counted down the days till University, and I couldn't wait to come here, but now I am having second thoughts and part of me wishes I never came here.

My First Ever YouTube Video

So last night I filmed my first ever YouTube video. It was really hard to do if I am honest as I have never been in front of a camera properly before, so I was really nervous, as you can probably see... lol. There was a lot of 'erms' and deep breaths cut out! I found it quite hard on what to actually talk about in my first video so I kind of improvised throughout the whole thing. Who thought it would be so hard just to talk to a camera? I am quite proud of myself actually, in being able to do this, as I really had to build myself up for it, and by doing this, I know it will build my confidence up so much and it will also make me feel better about myself, and that is what I want to gain from it most of all.

I haven't actually got my own camera and things to film at the moment, my friend said I can use hers for the time being until I get my own things to film at Christmas time, which is really kind of her. Her name is Sandra Ajewole - CHECK OUT HER YOUTUBE CHANNEL!

I am so happy to finally be involved with YouTube as it is something I have wanted to do for such a long time, I just wish I was apart of it when I went to Spain for two months, when I worked in Italy and also my change in bright hair colours. I feel like you guys would have enjoyed me sharing my life throughout vlogging during those times, but I have lots of things to talk about and I cant wait to share my journey through life with you all!

Oh.. and don't forget to Subscribe to my YouTube channel!

In VOGUE heaven

I am doing a module at University called Fashion Through Time where we have to create moodboards using Photoshop on 100 years of fashion from 1900-1990. We have to do 10, a moodboard for each decade.

Today, I looked at some of the oldest VOGUE magazines and I was so amazed at how much fashion has changed over the years. I must say, I prefer the fashion in the 60's, I absolutely love that decade, it is my favourite.

Here are some photos from the magazines.

I wish I was born in the olden days.

My first tattoo

Well, I never did a blog post about this. I got my first tattoo in March a few days after I had turned 18, and it is still the only one I have but I was quite proud of myself for having a pretty big tattoo for my first one, I don't really like small, simple tattoos, they aren't my thing, so I just went for it.

This tattoo is on my forearm, and I still love it to this day, it doesn't really mean anything to me I just really liked it. It took me a while to decide what I wanted and where I wanted it but I am happy I chose this and I do not regret it one bit.

People ask me 'did it hurt?' it didn't hurt me as much as I thought it did but people experience pain differently, I quite liked it and I was pretty happy sitting there throughout the whole 2 and a half hours. It also depends where you have your tattoo's, For example, I am guessing that your sternum or your ribs would hurt, but I would still go for it. I am booked in for one in a few weeks to add onto this and then Christmas time, I am booked in for having the whole part of my top arm done. I am having a full sleeve on the same arm, and I am so excited to finally get it in progress! I also plan on having my back done and my legs done too, but that wont be for a good while yet haha!

University // Bootcamp fashion show

This is just a small fashion show that my University put by third year fashion students as a welcome back presentation for people and I decided to go there with a camera and do some shooting. I thought it was great and some of the garments were very pretty and impressive.

I am not great at photographing (as you can see) but I tried my best to get some really good shots of it. My photography skills will only get better in time!
